Easter Pilgrimage to Lourdes: Celebrating the Diamond Jubilee!

HCPT Easter Pilgrimage to               Lourdes: Celebrating the        Diamond Jubilee!

26th March 2016-2nd April 2016

‘Thanks be to God’ was the theme that captured the wonderful week in Lourdes that I have just returned from. I was fortunate enough to travel with Group 44 and overall, the Manchester Region journeyed with nearly 50 children and young people, with a range of abilities, to share a special holiday with Our Lady to celebrate the 60th Year of HCPT. The week was filled with so much joy, laughter, opportunity and, much to our delight, sunshine!

We shared so many special moments, not only praying together and learning all about the story of Lourdes and the importance of the place, but visiting sites in the nearby area such as the Betharram Caves, the mountain village of Gavarnie and a full day excursion to the Seaside town of St Jean de Luz.

It  was such a privilege to share the week with some fantastic children and young people. Being able to watch them grow and change over the course of the week truly was inspirational. As a helper that has been travelling to Lourdes for many years, it never ceases to amaze me the ability we have as HCPT volunteer helpers to connect and befriend those who we meet through this pilgrimage trip, and in turn have our own lives touched and faith deepened. Every year brings with it something completely new and that for me is the real miracle of Lourdes shared with our HCPT  family.
